Meet the Little Brother – Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is Official

Few months after the official debut of Samsung Galaxy S5 in the end of February we welcome the small-sized version of the flagship named Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. The phone was an object of rumors in the last months and a lot of its specs were unveiled prior the announcement.

The Galaxy S5 mini is pretty much what we expected to see - a smaller device compared to the Galaxy S5 endowed with its attractive appearance and design and packed with slightly less impressive capabilities. Its body has dimensions of 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1 / 120 grams weight. If we compare it to its predecessor from the last year, the Galaxy S4 mini, the new device is heavier, larger and more powerful. Among the advantaged of the phone is the fact that it is water- and dust-resistant with the IP56 certificate. Galaxy S5 mini features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen. The resolution of the model is 720p which results in 326ppi – more impressive than the 256ppi of Galaxy S4.

If we consider Galaxy S5 mini for a mid-ranger we can say that this is a very capable handset that stands out with a great performance and speed thanks to the quad-core processor ticking at 1.4GHz and 1.5GB RAM. The native memory on board is 16GB. The phone supports microSD cards for all of us that always need more space for apps and photos. Samsung Galaxy S5 mini works with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed on it. There are plenty of new features in the user interface, like Private mode, Ultra Power Saving option, S Health and etc.

The main camera of the mid-ranger is with 8MP which is average for these category devices. Galaxy S4 mini is equipped with a similar rare sensor. There is a camera for video calls on the front side. The more impressive about the camera is the abundance of features provided in the app. The connectivity capabilities of Galaxy S5 mini are a lot, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, NFC and LTE. It is powered by a cell with capacity of 2100mAh. The handset supports dual-SIM.

The back panel of the mini flagship fascinates with at least two things – it shelters the heart rate sensor and it has the same accents with perforated coating that adorn the Galaxy S5. On the front panel just below the display is set the Home button where also is located the fingerprint scanner. Users will be able to choose amongst colorful options for the model – Copper Gold, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Charcoal Black. The first rumors for the price of the device suggest €479 retail price. It is expected to be launched within days with Russia being the first market that will receive the mini flagship.

few words at the end: the little brother of Samsung Galaxy S5 has the charisma of the flagship tucked in a small package to bring the advantages of the original device at more affordable price.
