The Mid-Rangers Xperia T3 and Xperia M2 are Launched in the US

Earlier this year Sony launched two mid-rangers as part of the Xperia line. Sony Xperia T3 and Sony Xperia M2 deliver very good performance and boasts great capabilities for their prices. The models were released in different countries across the globe, mostly in developing markets. Now the duo is ready to conquer the US markets as well. Sony officially launched the Xperia M2 and Xperia T3 in its official website. The phones are available for purchase without commitment. 

A quick reminder for Xperia M2 reveals that the phone comes in compact water-resistant panel. It is outfitted with a screen with 4.8-inch diagonal, 960 x 540p resolution. The CPU that works in the gut of the mid-ranger is Snapdragon 400 with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz. It arrives with Android 4.4 KitKat running on it. The camera on the back of the device is with 8MP. It can be yours for $279.99, offered black and white. 

The Xperia T3 is a larger phone with 5.3-inch screen. It is provided with a quad-core processor with Snapdragon 400 chipset and 1GB RAM. It is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It comes with an 8MP primary snapper on the rare panel. The mid-ranger is available in purple, white and black shells with water-resistant capabilities. It costs $399.99 off-contract.

Sony at IFA: New Flagships on the Block Accompanied by a Tablet and New Gadgets


The Japanese manufacturer Sony is a leader in the digit world and often puts the beginning of a new trend on the mobile arena. Earlier this year, 6 months ago to be exact, the company unveiled Sony Xperia Z2 and its mini-variant Sony Xperia Z2 Compact. The flagships succeeded the high-end models presented in the fall of 2013. This year Sony announced its plans to release a second flagship before December. 

Just as planned, the Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact entered the digit world. Even more, the manufacturer presented an entry-level handset and new generation wearable gadgets along with the flagships. 

Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are devices with similar specs and capabilities. Both models are outfitted with water- and dust-resistant panels made of metal and glass with IP65 and IP68 certificates. The models are equipped with a quad-core CPU 2.5GHz with Snapdragon 801 chip. The platform that powers the flagships is Android 4.4 KitKat. The primary camera armored in the smartphones is a 20.7MP Exmore RS sensor with LED flash. The camera on the front is with 2.2MP. If you expect to see LTE support in the list with specs of the handsets, you will not be disappointed. They are equipped with all connectivity features that suite a high-end device. 



The larger handset Xperia Z3 features 5.2-inch display TRILUMINOS with a resolution of 1080p. The smaller model Xperia Z3 Compact is packed with a 4.6-inch screen, 720p. The bigger sibling boasts 3GB RAM and a 3200mAh battery. The mini variant of the model comes with 2GB RAM and 2600mAh cell. Sony offers the phones in different colors. Xperia Z3 is coming in white, silber green, copper and black. The Xperia Z3 Compact will be available in black, green, white and orange. 

The mid-ranger that was introduced at IFA is Sony Xperia E3. It is the smallest device of the trip packed with 4.5-inch display, 480 x 854p. The processor working under the hood is with four cores ticking at 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM. Android 4.4 KitKat is running on the hardware. It has a 5MP camera on the rare panel and VGA front-facing sensor. The battery of the phone is with a capacity of 2330mAh. 


Along with the smartphones Sony introduced two wearable devices – the smartband Sony SmartBand Talk and the Sony SmartWatch 3. The smartwatch is equipped with 1.6-inch LCD screen. It has a resolution of 320 x 320p. The platform that powers the SmartWatch 3 is Android Wear.


Last but not least the new generation tablet by the company was unveiled. Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact comes with 8-inch TRILUMINOS full HD screen. It is water and dust-resistant. The processor working in the gut of the slate is quad-core 2.5GHz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB RAM and 4500mAh battery. It is ultra-thin, only 6.4mm thick and 270 grams of weight.

The press-event of Sony is scheduled for 4th of September. We already know that the new flagships of the company are due to arrival – Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. 

There are rumors that the manufacturer might announce new tablets and wearables at IFA as well. A new leak that claims to present photos of the unannounced Xperia Z3 Compact surfaced on the web. They show the slick design and premium look of the model and 4 different colors – green, red, white and black.

The rumored specs of the flagship include a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip and the iconic 20.7MP rare camera. Sources reveal that it is coming with 4.6-inch screen with 720p resolution. The line of Sony Xperia Z tablets is known for its high-end full sized devices armored with advanced features and capabilities. The models come with at least 10-inch displays which is much appreciated by users who fancy the full-sized tablets. How would you like high-end tablet from Sony with smaller screen? It seems that the company is working on a model named Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Two of the latest additions of Sony are thin, attractive and packed with decent mid-ranged specs. Sony Xperia T3 and Sony Xperia C3 were recently announced. Xperia T3 is available for purchase while its sibling Xperia C3 is hitting the markets in August. Are you curious how both smartphones look next to each other? Xperia T3 comes with a 5.3-inch display, while C3 is provided with 5.5-inch glass, both with a resolution of 720p. They run on Android 4.4 KitKat. Sony Xperia Z2a Debuts in Taiwan


Recently Sony released a version of its flagship Sony Xperia Z2 purposed for the Japanese carrier KDDI, named Sony Xperia ZL2. Now a similar device to the Xperia ZL2 is officially introduced in Taiwan. It is dubbed Sony Xperia Z2a. The plans for the distribution include only the markets in Asia.

The specs and the features of the new smartphone are pretty much the same as the capabilities of Sony Xperia ZL2. It is provided with a 5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. The CPU that powers the model is quad-core with Snapdragon 801 chip and 3GB RAM. The platform running on the phone is Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The most significant feature of the model is the 20.7MP Exmor RS main camera set on the rare panel with great capabilities and features. It is working with a 3000mAh cell under the hood. It supports LTE connectivity. The Xperia Z2a will be available in three colors – turquoise, black and white.

Sony Taiwan has not revealed the price of the model yet. It will land on the shelves of the carriers and retailers in July. The storage provided in the Xperia Z2a is 16GB which is the main difference between it and the Xperia ZL2 packed with 32GB.
