In the last
days I shared the news that three new smartphones of Xiaomi are making theirway to India
– Xiaomi Redmi Note, Redmi 1S and Mi 3. The Mi 3 is already up-for-sales while
the other two are coming in the next weeks.
Xiaomi
Redmi 1S is a low-end smartphone purposed for users who are looking for a
budget device. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The processor that works in
the phone is quad-core clocked at 1.6GHz with Snapdragon 400. The Redmi 1S is
provided with a 4.7-inch glass with a 720p resolution. It is going on sale with
1GB RAM on board and 8GB expandable storage. The cameras are a 8MP rare shooter
and 2MP front sensor. Dual-SIM is one of its advantages. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi,
GPS and 3G in terms of connectivity. The cell found under the hood is 2000mAh.
The price of the model is Rs 6999 ($117) and it is coming in August.
The larger
new phone is Xiaomi Redmi Note with 5.5-inch IPS display with 720p. In the heart
of the model is assured an octa-core MediaTek CPU ticking at 1.7GHz. On board
are provided 2GB RAM and 8GB native memory. It can be expanded via microSD
slot. On the back of Redmi Note lies a 13MP camera. Over the display on the
front is equipped a 5MP camera for selfies. It is arriving with Android 4.3 pre-installed
out-of-the box. The model supports a large range of features for connectivity.
It is working with a 3100mAh battery. The price of the phablet is Rs 9999
($166). It is also coming in August.
few words
at the end: Both new additions to Xiaomi’s family are ready to compete against
the other mid-rangers on the market. The main advantages of the models are their processors,
cameras and low prices while the main weakness is the outdated software.
