Last week a
new gladiator entered the mobile arena – the OnePlus One with slick design with metal frame,
attractive appearance and even more attractive package of specs and
capabilities. OnePlus is a manufacturer based in China, and the OnePlus One is its
first flagship. The company has been releasing teasers about the model for
months before it finally took the wraps off from the handset.
The OnePlus
One sports a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. It provides 401ppi pixel
density and 178 degree viewing angles. The display is protected with Corning
Gorilla Glass 3. The model is powered by a quad-core processor with Qualcomm
Snapdragon 801 chip ticking at 2.5GHz coupled at 3GB. It is provided with two
options for the storage, either 16GB or 64GB. There is no microSD slot for
expansion of the memory. Among the key features of the smartphone is its rare
camera with 13MP armored with Sony Exmor IMX214 lens, dual LED flash and f/2.0
aperture. On the front panel
is located a 5MP camera for video calls and selfies. The operating system
running on the OnePlus One is CyanogenMod 11S which is based on the Android 4.4
KitKat platform. The phone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. It
comes in two colors, Sandstone Black and Silk White. Did I mention that the
exterior of the phone is rather appealing?
The model
will be released worldwide. Among the first countries that will welcome the
phone are Belgium, Austria, Finland,
Denmark, Germany, France,
Spain, Italy, Portugal,
Sweden, the UK, the Netherlands,
