Amazon announced that it will hold a big event on 18th of June and right on time in Seattle the company unveiled its first model smartphone. The rumors that giant online retailer is working on its own handset have been lingering on the web for some time now. The earliest speculations and predictions suggested that Amazon might choose a similar path for the phones to its budget series tablets Kindle Fire. Some months ago it became clear that the company will enter the mobile arena with something special rather than with something cheap.
The leaks
for the smartphone of Amazon made the hint for a very interesting device coming
up in the digit world. The rumor mill was delivering more and more gossips and
leaks about a phone with user interface with 3D effect, something unseen in the
mobile arena until now. The anticipation and the excitement for the debut of
the new handset were increasing with everyday and on 18th of June we
finally welcomed the Amazon Fire Phone.
The new
device comes with a user interface named Dynamic Perspective. It is less
exciting than what we expected to see but more interesting than what we are
used to use with the current smartphones and flagships. The Dynamic Perspective
UI works with four face cameras that track the movements of the eyes of the
user. The features enable users to initiate actions via simple moving of the
device. Those of you who remember the teaser video released by Amazon, one of
the participants expressed the user experience with “it moved with me.”
The Amazon
Fire Phone works with a 4.7-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 720p protected
with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor with
Snapdragon 800 silicon. The phone is provided with 2GB RAM. It comes with a
13MP camera sensor on the rare panel that works as an ordinary camera. One of
the special features provided by Amazon is the free unlimited photo storage on
the Amazon’s Cloud Drive.
The platform pre-installed on the handset is Amazon Fire OS which is the highly
customized user interface of the company based on Android. As expected the
retailer has added easy access to most of its services via the phone.
The
connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and LTE support. The
storage provided in the model is either 32GB or 64GB. There is no microSD slot
for expansion, but even the 32GB variant should be more than enough to store
your apps, music and files. The photos can be easily saved in the free cloud
space. The battery that gives juicy to the phone is with a capacity of 2400mAh.
Amazon has added great stereo speakers to the device. The earbuds have built-in
magnets and tangle-free cable.
Amazon Fire
Phone is already available for pre-orders from Amazon. It can be purchased
either on contract from AT&T for $199 for the 32GB variant or at full
retail price for $649. The new phone arrives in sleek black panel.
