One of the
biggest trends in the digit world is launching of ultra-slim (unbelievably
slim) powerful smartphones and tablets. We can even say that there is a
competition between manufacturers and perhaps that is why here and there we
hear for the arrival of the "world's slimmest smartphone" etc. As
expected the title quickly changes its owner with the launching of a new even
thinnest model. Oppo is among the most enthusiastic manufacturers that aim to
deliver ultra slim devices.
The newest
addition of the company is presented as the "world's thinnest phone"
(LTE-enabled) – meet the Oppo R3. To be fair the slimmest handset is the Gionee
Elife S5.5 which is only 5.6mm thick. However the model does not support LTE
connectivity. This makes the Oppo R3 officially the world's slimmest 4G-enabled
smartphone, at least for now. The handset is "dressed" in a stylish panel with
dimensions 142.3 x 70.4 x 6.3mm. It weighs the modest 140grams. The R3 is
equipped with a 5-inch display with a 720p resolution. It works with a Qualcomm
Snapdragon 400 chip paired with 1GB RAM. It provides 8GB storage that can be
expanded.
The hardware is operated by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with the Color
OS UI running on it. The primary camera sensor is set on the rare panel and has
8MP with f/2.0 aperture. There is a decent 5MP camera on the front. Among the
special features of the main camera is the recording of animated GIFs. The
phone is landing on the Chinese market but the exact date remains unknown. The
price of the world's thinnest 4G LTE-enabled smartphone is $370.
few words
at the end: Oppo R3 reaches new heights in the trend for ultra-slim
smartphones in the digit world. It is exciting to see how much thinner the upcoming slimmest phones
will be in the near future.
