The new
sweet android update is officially here after long months of anticipating.
Google introduced the Android L back in summer during its developers’
conference I/O. The company revealed only a bit of the improvements and the new
features coming in the platform but there was a lot about Android L that was
kept in mystery, like the name of the update. The most discussed names forAndroid L were Android Lemon Meringue Pie and Android Lollipop.
Now we know
officially that the 5th upgrade of the Google’s mobile operating system is
called Android 5.0 Lollipop. The mobile giant launched the platform on 15th
of October along with the debut of the first devices that are running on it
out-of-the-box – Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. What is new in 5.0 Lollipop? The design
of the platform is refreshed with new so called Material Design. It provides
more fulfilling visual experience for users and more colorful and vivid look of
the user interface. In terms of functionality and features, the 5.0 Lollipop
has the capabilities to respond in touches in more intuitive way.
The goal of
Google is to bring the Material Design across all types of Android-running

improvements including enhanced options in the notifications, a battery saver
feature and many more. The releasing of the update has begun. Google is rolling
it out to Nexus 5, 7 and 10 as well as to the models “Google Play Editions” in
