Apple
officially presented the next generation tablets – the iPad Air 2 that succeeds
that last year’s ultra light and thin slate, and the iPad mini 3 packed with
Retina display. Both tablets are officially ready for pre-orders.
The price
of the small-sized slate, the Apple iPad mini 3 is $399 for the model with 16GB
storage, $499 for the 64GB and $599 for the 128GB. Apple offers versions of the
new models with support for Wi-Fi + Cellular which can be purchased for $529,
$629 and $729. A quick reminder for the specs and capabilities of the smaller
device include 7.9-inch glass, 1536 x 2048 pixels. It is fast and powerful
tablet with similar performance to its predecessor. The CPU of the slate is
Apple A7. The iPad mini 3 is powered by the newly launched iOS 08. It boasts
special features like TouchID sensor. The main snapper packed in the tablet is
on the back with a resolution of 5MP. It has f/2.4 aperture and features like
face detection etc. On the face side is set a 1.2MP camera.
The larger
sibling is Apple iPad Air 2. It grabs the title for the lightest tablet of this
size on the mobile arena until today. The slate is only 6.1mm thick and weighs
331 grams. The diagonal of the screen is 9.7-inch. It has resolution of 2048 x
1536p and antireflective coating. In the gut of the model works Apple A8X chip.
The iPad Air 2 also arrived with TouchID fingerprint sensor. It works with 8MP
main camera on the back paired with a 1.2MP sensor on front. The price of the
bigger model is $499 for the 16GB version, $599 for 64GB and $699 for 128GB.
Apple has listed for pre-orders iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi and Cellular
connectivity. The certain variants cost $629 for 16GB, $729 for 64GB and $829
for 128GB.
