The two new
smartwatches by Samsung are the Tizen-based Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2
Neo introduced around MWC 2014 in the end of February. New rumors about the manufacturer suggest that it is planning to release a new version of the Gear 2.
The special about the upcoming smartwatch is its 3G connectivity. It will
support calling capabilities which is a great new possibility added to the
wearable tech that certainly will make it more practical and convenient for
users.
The name of
the new advanced time piece is Samsung Gear Solo. We have seen it in the
database of the Korean intellectual Property Office. Rumors reveal that it will
be launched by the big carrier SK Telecom. No release date is available yet
though. The first market that will receive the Galaxy Gear Solo is Korea but there
are hints that it might be introduced in more countries across the globe.
The smartwatch features a USIM module. The second generation smartwatches by Samsung brought significant improvements in the design and the functionality of the gadgets compared to the original Samsung Galaxy Gear released last year.
