Xiaomi is
one of the most popular manufacturers in China, mainly for its highly
affordable and very capable mid-rangers. The released Xiaomi Mi 3 in Q4 last
year is a great example for the strategy of the company to make its users happy
by offering a lot in a smartphone at relatively low price. The model quickly
became one of the most widely used handsets.
Xiaomi
recently announced its plans to introduce the model outside China. In the
next 8 months the Mi 3 will land on the markets in India,
Russia, Brazil, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Philippines,
Mexico, Vietnam, Turkey
and Thailand.
There is great news for all of you that just love the decent mid-rangers.
Xiaomi slashes down the prices of the Mi 3 models. The 16GB version of the phone
now costs $270 (down from $327). The model with 64GB can be purchased for $320.
The
interesting about Xiaomi Mi 3 is that it comes in several different versions.
One of them works with a quad-core CPU Cortex-A15 with Tegra 4 chip. It is
released by China Mobile. The other option is armored with a quad-core Krait
400 with Snapdragon 800 chip. It is available for purchase in China Unicom.
A quick
reminder for the specs of Xiaomi Mi 3 includes a 5-inch display with a 1080p
resolution. It runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 on top of it. The
main camera of the phone is a rare 13MP sensor. It features a 2MP front camera
as well. The cutting of the price for the model will make it more competitive
against the recently revealed OnePlus One that costs $299 (for the 16GB
smartphone) and $349 for the model with 64GB.
