Samsung Z Enters the Digit World with Tizen OS on Board

It is not a secret that Samsung is working on its own platform based on the TouchWiz UI that we know from all the latest models of the company. The first devices running on Tizen OS are the smartwatches Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo. Now the first smartphone of Samsung powered by Tizen OS debuts in the digit world. It took over a year to Samsung to develop the handset working on its platform. The name of the extraordinary model is Samsung Z. 

The phone stands out with its unique appearance and set of specs. It borrows some of the advantages of the most popular Android-running models, like the faux leather pattern on the back cover, similar to Galaxy Note 3. It has a heart rate sensor on the rare panel, just like the one provided in Samsung Galaxy S5. The fingerprint sensor on the home button is also well known feature from the flagship. Samsung Galaxy Z sports a slick body with dimensions 138.2 x 69.8 x 8.5mm. 

The new smartphone comes with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, 720p resolution. Inn the gut of the model is ticking a quad-core CPU 2.3GH in configuration with 2GB RAM. The platform running on the phone is Tizen 2.2.1 with some of the characteristic apps and features of the Korean manufacturer, including Download Booster, S Health, Ultra Power Saving Mode etc. Samsung Z is provided with two cameras, an 8MP sensor on the back and 2.1MP on the face panel. 

It supports a vast range of connectivity features, including LTE Cat 4. The cell that powered the Samsung Z is with a capacity of 2600mAh. The model will be available in two color options – Gold and Black. It is expected to launch in Q3 2014. The first market where the Samsung Z will be introduced to is Russia. Samsung revealed that the first Tizen-powered phone is prepared for global release.
