Recently Nokia teased on its website the upcoming “Green with envy” device and it quickly fueled the rumors that the Nokia X2 is coming for its debut sooner than later. Earlier this year Nokia launched the first smartphones running on the Google’s Android. The predecessor of Nokia X2 is the Nokia X, reveals four months ago. The model was much anticipated by Nokia’s users who were not the biggest fans of the Windows Phone platform. The Nokia X2 is an upgrade of the older device in almost all aspects, from exterior to internals and capabilities. Speaking of exterior, the Nokia X2 brings a nice new feature that was absent in Nokia X – a home button beneath the screen.
The new
phone is armored with a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Just for a comparison, the Nokia X is a 4-incher with the same resolution. In
the gut of Nokia X2 is ticking a dual-core CPU with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200
chipset and 1GB RAM. It is provided with only 4GB storage. Users that need more
memory can take advantage from the option to expand it via microSD slot.
The platform pre-installed on the Nokia X2 reminds a lot to the Windows Phone OS. However it is the Android platform enriched in the style of Nokia and packed with some of the characteristic features for the company, like Nokia HERE. The phone does not support the Google’s services, but a lot of the Android apps from third parties are compatible with the model. The cameras that are integrated in the Nokia X2 are two – a 5MP sensor on the rare panel paired with a VGA camera on the face side. The connectivity features are the expected for the entry-level devices – Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-FI and 3G. An 1800mAh cell assured the juice for the handset.
The new
phone comes in bright color options – green, black, yellow, orange, white and
matt dark grey. The launching and the availability of the smartphone are
already announced. It costs $135 (€99) and it is already up-for-sales in some retailers. Nokia will release
the phone globally.
few words at the end: It is good that we didn’t have to wait a whole year for the launching of the upgrade of Nokia X. Nokia X2 is definitely a decent entry-level device armored with an extraordinary package of specs.
